Demand Planning Manager

The Demand Planning Managers’ primary objectives are to ensure best in class global demand planning management to support supply planning, inventory management and procurement activities.

This is a role that supports a global business across all sales regions, products and Franchises. Therefore, the leader must have a global perspective, ability to seamlessly communicate at a commercial regional level, a global product level, Franchise focus, etc.

This is a highly complex, leadership and analytical role requiring extensive experience and expertise in demand planning, supply planning, S&OP, inventory management and supply chain.

A Continuous Improvement and Transformation mindset are critical to this role. The business requires on-going optimisation of all aspects within demand planning to improve on product availability, our working capital position, minimise excess and obsolescence and enhance our Customer Experience.

In particular, you can expect to: To plan, implement and sustain the businesses processes to deliver an accurate global demand plan that will drive supply planning, inventory management and product availability using a best in class cost structure.

  • Activities:

  • - Support the delivery of business and cash goals.

  • - Facilitate the creation of 12-18 month rolling forecasts for all products across the organization using a combination of data analysis, statistical techniques & market intelligence from the commercial teams.

  • - Monitor the aggregated Demand Plan, manage the Demand Planning system, collate assumptions and highlight areas of concern with Demand Planners to ensure continuous forecast accuracy improvement.

  • - Ensure smooth translation from demand plan creation to supply planning and monitors forecast accuracy and forecast variance to sales projections across the organization. Develops and executes actions to improve forecast accuracy.

  • - Provide training, coaching and mentoring to the Demand Planning team to establish responsibility for preparing and analyzing SKU level forecasts and support the creation of S&OP reports & presentations.

  • - Develops strong relationships with Account Managers, Brand/Category Managers Marketing teams & key Customers to facilitate regular input in the forecasting process through regular collaborative reviews and exchange of information across the organization.

  • - Facilitate regular, recurring monthly forecast review processes across the organization, including & safety stocking policy by the material.

  • - In alignment with supply planning and inventory management functions, improve and maintain stocking policies and settings to continue to drive product availability, inventory improvements and best in class cost structures.

  • - To work closely with the Supply Planning function to create and present the monthly regional Executive S&OP.
  •  
  • - Provide support to new product introduction process. Maintain active accurate forecasts and confirm underlying assumptions. Evaluate the impact and potential of new product introductions.

  • - Communicate daily with sales, marketing, supply chain and inventory management across the organisation to stay ahead of changing market conditions, ensuring adequate production volumes while avoiding surplus inventory. Manage Scenario Planning as part of the work activity.

  • - Review and monitor Root Causes Analysis (RCA) to ensure action plans are in place and closed out to prevent any issues with demand planning accuracy.

  • - Ensure that the policies, processes and measurement definitions within demand planning are understood and rolled out across the organisation.

  • - Propose and execute CI improvements in the area of demand planning
  • Create, define, manage and execute business processes, eg.
  •  
  • - Functional process and information flows e.g. Franchises, Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Supply Planning, Inventory Management, Sourcing, Production, Sourcing.

  • - Monthly – Executive S&OP presentation to franchise, commercial, financial, production senior leadership.
  •  
  • - Regular reports and information to analyze demand planning performance and drive improvement.
  •  
  • - Other duties in connection with demand planning management and improvement as required.

Education:

  • - Bachelor’s degree in international business or operations, demand planning, inventory management, supply chain management, S&OP.

Some logistics:

  • - Role based in the UK

We are looking for someone to provide support to the business by delivering expert product knowledge across a range of products within the company.

This will require being able to understand medical and marketing documents quickly to become an expert in various products and furthermore, product areas. At times, production of similar documents will be required.

Effective and professional communication with clients or partners will be required when collecting or presenting information.

The ideal candidate will have a combination of medical, technical and design understanding. The role will be varied and require adaptability to move between different focusses in a timely and effective manner. Any experience with Orthopaedics would be beneficial.
