Commercial Project Manager

Purpose of the Role:

The Project Manager is responsible for utilising standard project management methodology to plan, present and manage the active conversion of a number of key projects (to be agreed).To include financial ROI, implementation of appropriate support system (eg ERP) & Legal considerations. Ensure updates and approvals as directed.

  • Key Results/Accountabilities expected from the Role:

  • - Independently manage projects and is able to facilitate the end-to-end delivery of multiple projects, ranging in size and complexity
  •  
  • - Independently identify and define the operational, technical and management information systems requirements
  •  
  • - Produce the plan and manage the customer team through that plan, to establish and implement robust operating procedures and information systems solutions
  •  
  • - Manage workload and priorities effectively to meet customer expectations
  •  
  • - Manage projects in line with Prince 2 project management methodology
  •  
  • - Present the implementation project management methodology to prospective and/or secured customers
  •  
  • - Present the implementation service offering internally at all levels of the organisation
  • Communicate closely with account managers/customer relationship holders in order to accurately define customer requirements
  •  
  • - Define the project scope, sponsors, stakeholders, resources, customer expectations and measures of success (for every individual project)
  •  
  • - Build a structured and comprehensive project plan to effectively manage the implementation/transformation process
  •  
  • - Analyse, define, agree and communicate the customers operational requirements internally and externally for every client implementation
  •  
  • - Report project progress to the project team
  •  
  • - Identify, monitor and control risks
  •  
  • - Identify and manage project issues
  •  
  • - Keep track of personal project effort
  •  
  • - Keep track of the costs relating to responsible projects
  •  
  • - Identify and implement process and system enhancements and convert the improvements into a monetary value that has been delivered to the business internally and externally

  • - Identify, design and facilitate the development of unique customer operational and systems requirements

  • - Solve resource availability constraints

  • - Re-structure the project plan to accommodate exceptions to the plan

  • - Monitor project issues closely and take corrective measures as appropriate

Background

  • Project management related to undergraduate or graduate qualification
  •  
  • - 3 years or more project management experience (whereby Prince 2 methodology has been applied)
  •  
  • - Strong previous work experience in a Lifesciences or other regulated industry
  •  
  • - Awareness of pharmaceutical regulatory approval processes
  •  
  • - Understanding of ERP systems and supply chain processes would be beneficial
  •  
  • - Strong problem-solving skills
  •  
  • - Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally
  •  
  • - Leadership skills
  •  
  • - The ability to analyse and translate business requirements and make sound judgements as a result
